Among the critical missions of Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen is to advocate and represent the interests of the citizens of Connecticut as rigorously as possible. General Jepsen aims to ensure that the quality of life of the state's citizens, especially veterans, is preserved and enhanced. By strictly enforcing consumer protection laws, the Office of the Attorney General protects veterans from fraud, deceptive practices and scams that could otherwise cause harm.
The Consumer Protection Department within the Office of Attorney General focuses on consumer protection through counsel and representation of the Department of Consumer Protection, consumer education and complaint mediation, and investigations, written comments to state and federal agencies, and litigation under various state and federal laws, with a major reliance on the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA).
